First... cont.

So remember how I told you that I'm learning a bunches? Oh yeah, I told you like five million times. Well. Let me tell you one more thing I'm learning. STORY TIME!

{I am telling this in a Meg Ryan voice, just to help you imagine this a little bit better.}

Once upon a time there was this girl named Holly. And one day she heard a little voice telling her to run for Student Body President. You see, Holly had never wanted to do this before. {too much. too much. too much.} But she followed that little voice & ran. She ran her little heart out using mustaches on sticks & lots o' cookies for peeps to munch on. She was elected. And was surprised. And scared. And excited. And nervous. And she felt a little {a lot} overwhelmed.

She did what any anal/ocd girl would do and read the whole SBP notebook cover-to-cover. She began to plan little meetings at her house for student council with her trusty SBVP. In those meetings Holly discovered that she was pretty dang shy & awkward & didn't know how to lead a meeting. Or speak in front of people well. Or, ya know, be an SBP. She felt pretty alone & scared. She didn't think she could do it. She kinda wanted to quit.

Then the next month was July, & Holly went to efy with her bff, Tina. She tried really super hard to cure her lack of confidence. And whadayaknow, there was a whole entire class on finding confidence in the Lord. And that was it. Bingo! Holly found her fix.

Holly went home from efy feeling rejuvinated & happy. She set goals & did her very best to keep them. But life happened, and Holly forgot {a little} about what she had learned. Busy-ness got the best of her & made it hard to remember.

Then Holly went to Disneyland. She went with the new student council, the people that she'd be spending her life with for the next year. And holy crap, she had fun. She loved every second of it. & grew to love every single person in student council so so much.

Then the school year started. School bbq's, orientations, assemblies, & dances crept their way into the schedule & Holly realized how much insanity could result from all of it. But she also realized another thing.

She recognized how much happiness could result from the insanity.

You see, every single person in this picture above ^ {& some} worked really hard at these events. They had smiles on their faces. They asked how they could help. They all became super close. The LOVED each other. They made Holly's job so happy & rewarding. They helped her re-discover her passionate love for Mesa High. They helped her to have a changed perspective. They helped her have confidence. They helped her remember.

So, tonight, Holly is going back to her notes from the efy class she attended and {once again} is finding confidence in the Lord. Because she remembers {& knows} that He is the ultimate source of happiness & confidence. He loves everyone, including a little girl that's treading uncharted waters. He sends special people into lives just when they need it, special people that can totally change someone. He answers prayers {hardcore} & knows.exactly. what his children need.
