everybody everybody

Just had a few things on my mind{a few things I need to work on} I'm just feeling like I want to share it with all mankind. I struggle with words, but a couple of homies said it well:

{watch this:}

And from my dear Ingrid,
"We have fallen down again tonight.
In this world it's hard to get it right.
Try to make your heart feel like a glove,
what it needs is love love love.
Everybody, everybody wants to love.
Everybody, everybody wants to be loved.
LOVE."

I've been working on seeing others in a better light, a little {or a lot} more like Christ sees them. Yesterday in the LDS general conference, one of the authorities said "The thing that God enjoys most about being God is the thrill of being merciful." Ever since that inspired man said those words, I've been trying to be a little more merciful. A little more forgiving. A little more understanding.

And let me tell you, it's thrilling.

Let It Go.

cha cha cha

Happy {belated.} birthday to my bff Arizona! She is now a whole one hundred years old, and I think that is pretty special stuff.

The good ol' Grand Canyon state has & always will have a huge, happy place in my heart. I'm a warm-blooded, cactus-loving, true Arizonan girl.

I mean let's get real here.

Who doesn't love this?

My Mom Sews Better Than Your Mom

Welp. It is officially February. Love the month of love!

We love Homecoming.

Look at baby us! <3

You can probably tell this this guy ^^ makes
^^that girl pretty happy.

____________________

There's this lady we call Clodhopper & she is quite the seamstress.
She sews everything for everyone & is a saint about it.
She adds sleeves. Makes it longer. Fits it to short torsos.
Puts together three patterns.

And it comes out like this:

Winter Formal. This guy ^^ was a super fun date!
We had a blast rockin' out.

And as you can see, Clodhopper strikes again.
Prettiest dress she has ever made & I get to wear it. BONUS!

And the Christmas dress!
I love the vintage fabric & three-quarter sleeves.

{February Formal dress coming soon! <3}

She always cuts it to order & works her heart out
to make it just the way you like.
And she sews it with love. & you can feel it!

Clodhopper is my mom & she is perfect.
She has been an amazing amazing help to me this year.
{my whole life, ya know.}
Sewing beautiful dresses is only a small part of what she does.
For reals, that woman. I want to be just like her when I am all grown up.

October Part Two. Behind the Scenes.

Since it's January now, I'll post more about October.

October was Homecoming. All month long.
And so was September, and so was August.

But October wins.

If you have ever been involved in student council in these parts,
you'll understand the hours & hours of work put into making Homecoming happen.

We wake up in the morning. Go to school.
4th hour rolls around, and we are running across campus like little maniacs
trying to get as much done as we can.
Filling out piles & piles of paperwork.
Asking cheer to perform.
Making sure that our theme is okay.
Buying & making decorations.
Rehearsing assemblies.
Building & painting sets.
Advertising like crazy.
Organizing parades, or carnivals, or dances, or halftime shows, or bonfires.
Going to meetings.
Crossing T's.
Dotting I's.

This year I was in charge of the parade & the dance decorations.
Not sure how I did it, but it all came together.

I am so blessed to be in Student Council.
I love each & every one of those crazy people to death.
I can't imagine high school without them. <3

And lucky me, I had a perfectly wonderful date from Student Council
to hang out with all. week. long.

Happpiness.

October Part One.

Titling this post "Homecoming" just will not suffice. The ENTIRE month of October was dedicated toward this blessed event, and man. It was worth it. :)

But happy event number one, {yes, number one. :) } was getting asked to Homecoming.

He trailed notecards allll down my front porch. At the end there was a single red rose.

Will you petal with me to Homecoming? :)
He is precious.

Let's just say...
If I could, I'd wake up to this sight ^^ any day.

The Answer:

truth.

I felt like a genius!

And I was sososososososososo happy & excited. That's all.

Coming soon:
Part two, Behind the Scenes

Part three, A Day in the Life...

Part four, A Perfect Ending

I don't even feel bad.

So I really love Senior Year a lot. Seriously, I'm having so much fun.

This ^^ is why I don't even feel bad for my lack of blogging. Except I wish I blogged more often for the keepsakeyness. But this will just have to do. Sometime in the not-so-distant future I will document my life a little bit better, a.k.a. show my one reader how wonderful Homecoming was. & just talk about happy senior-ness a bit.

So let's back up a bit. Pre-homecoming life. It's hard to even remember it. This year is flying by!

Burial of the Westwood Warrior.
Did the eulogy with this guy. ^^
Seriously, this is one of my favorite Mesa High traditions.
& that's sayin' something fierce.

Football season was SO fun this year. We made some pretty fun memories. :)
Some of these here folks became my best friends at the football games Sophomore year.
Coming back Senior year with them has been.. yeah, a BLAST.
love them.

And yes, the fuel that I began drinking profusely about two weeks before HW.
{homecoming week/hell week/happiness week}
This here piccy demonstrates my life for pretty much all of October.
Many a QT trips kept us all goin' strong.
And let's get real.
They still do.

And probably always will.
